Medigap Insurance Plan F vs Medigap Insurance Plan G in Bucks County And Montgomery County Pa

Medigap Insurance Plan F vs Medigap Insurance Plan G in Bucks County And Montgomery County Pa. Many of my clients here in Bucks and Montgomery County Pennsylvania always seem to ask why they should purchase a Medicare Supplement Plan F over a Medicare Supplement G Plan. The only difference between the two plans is that Plan F pays the Medicare Annual Part B Deductible and Plan G does not.

Plan F also covers Part B excess charges, but in Pennsylvania, doctors that accept Medicare must accept the Medicare’s allowable amount as payment and cannot charge over and above that allowable amount. If the difference between the two premiums is more than the annual Part B deductible, you’ll want to go with the Medigap G Plan. If the premium is less than the annual Part B deductible amount, you’ll want to go with the Plan F however, either plan will suit you well. Plan F will usually just cost you more in the end.

05/02/2017 Update: Some recent new is that AARP has come out with a Plan G. This is great news. Many of my clients were unable to qualify for Plan G. AARP has much easier underwriting than most companies. This means if you were unable to qualify for a G Plan. You now may able to do so and the rates look pretty good so far.
