Keystone 65 Focus Plan

We’ve explained other Medicare Plans, but how about the new Keystone 65 Focus Plan? This is a new Medicare Advantage HMO benefit product that became available just this year starting on January 1, 2016. Members who are eligible for this Independence Blue Cross benefit plan are people who live in Philadelphia, Bucks, Delaware, Chester, and Montgomery Counties.

What are the new plan’s characteristics?

You may be wondering what makes this plan different from the other Medicare Plans out there. One of the distinguishing characteristics is size and scope of the Keystone 65 Focus Plan’s provider network. Although it’s a much smaller network it does cover many popular area hospitals including Doylestown Hospital, Abington Hospital, and Holy Redeemer Hospital Members who choose this plan can take advantage of lower premiums and out-of-pocket costs. They will enjoy the same benefits as they would with broader network Medicare Advantage HMO benefits.

The network of the Keystone 65 Focus Plan doesn’t include all of the hospitals, physicians, and ancillary providers that participate in the Medicare Advantage HMO network therefore the network for Keystone 65 Focus is a subset of the existing Medicare Advantage network. It consists of more than 23,000 providers and 20 acute care hospitals that are located in Philadelphia, Chester, Bucks, Montgomery, and Delaware Counties.
