AARP Medicare Supplement Plan offers Plan G. Announcing the Launch of Plan G for AARP Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans! Plan G will become available for AARP® Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans, insured by United Healthcare Insurance Company, in most states for plan effective dates of July 1, 2017, and later. This great new offering addresses consumer interest in the plan.
Get to know Plan G! The only difference between Plan F and G is that Plan G does not cover the Medicare Part B deductible. For 2017, the Medicare Part B Annual Deductible will be $183.00. Also, in many cases, Plan G may have a lower priced premium than Plan F. Guaranteed Issue and Underwriting for Plan G will be similar to that of other AARP Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans insured by United Healthcare. Clients have also asked about F Plan going away and here are some facts:
- Anyone eligible for Medicare Part A before January 1, 2020 can enroll in Plan F even and even after 2020 still keep their plan if they choose.
- Anyone who becomes eligible for Medicare Part A on or after January 1.2020, will not be able to purchase Medicare Supplement Plan F however, Medicare Supplement Plan G will still be available for all applicants.
One of the primary advantages of the AARP Medicare Supplement Plan G is that the underwriting can be a little easier. Many other insurance companies dependent on the health conditions of the applicant. This bodes well for people that have been trying to change to Medicare Supplement Plan G, that were previously unable to qualify because of certain health conditions. There are no guarantees that they will qualify for a new plan but many will.
